J. Shelby Bryan, Chairman
Mr. Bryan has been a pioneer in voice communications for thirty years; first in wireless, both domestic and international, later in integrated voice and data services and currently in business class Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Mr. Bryan previously served as Chairman and CEO of ICG Communications, one of the nation's largest integrated telephone and data companies. ICG delivers voice and internet data services over fiber optic networks and was one of the first companies to envision hosted VoIP services. Prior to ICG Mr. Bryan co-founded Millicom International Cellular S.A. Millicom, under Mr. Bryan’s leadership, founded and operated more cellular telephone companies than any other company in the world. In 1983 Millicom entered into a joint venture with a British company to form Vodaphone. Mr. Bryan was one of the 1st board members of this company, which is now the largest cellular company in the world. Mr. Bryan received a BA from the University of Texas, a JD from the University of Texas School of Law and an MBA from Harvard University.
George W. Haywood
Mr. Haywood is a private investor and manages his own hedge fund. Previously he was director of corporate and high yield bond investments at Moore Capital Management from 1994 to 1998. Before joining Moore Capital, Mr. Haywood held several positions with Lehman Brothers from 1982 to 1994; including Managing Director for corporate bond trading. Mr. Haywood also served as a Director of XM Satellite Radio. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for New School University in New York, NY. Mr. Haywood holds a B.A. from Harvard University.
John Radziwill
Mr. Radziwill is Chairman of Acquisitor Plc. He also serves as a Director with International Assets Holding Corporation; a NASDAQ listed financial services company. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Radziwill was a Director of Air Express International Corporation, a publicly traded company engaged in worldwide transportation and logistics. From 1977 to 1997 Mr. Radziwill was president of Radix Organization Inc., a private US investment banking firm. Mr. Radziwill is a member of the Bar of England & Wales.
Bill Smedberg
Mr. Smedberg has been President of Pingtone since 2005. Mr. Smedberg came to PingTone from Network Access Solutions (“NAS”), a publicly traded, facilities based business DSL provider. In addition to his role as Executive Vice President and CFO, Mr. Smedberg was a member of the NAS Board of Directors. Prior to NAS, he worked for PathNet, a wholesale telecommunications provider, first as CFO and Vice President of Corporate Development and then as Executive Vice President, Corporate Development. Before joining PathNet, Mr. Smedberg worked in Belgium as Director, Strategic Planning and Corporate Development for Jamont, a European consumer products joint venture among Nokia, Montedison, and James River Corporation, where he was responsible for Jamont's corporate finance, strategic planning and corporate development. Mr. Smedberg holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
Walter L. Threadgill
Mr. Threadgill is Managing General Partner of Atlantic Coastal Ventures, L.P., a venture capital firm. From June 1979 to February 2000, Mr. Threadgill served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Multimedia Broadcast Investment Corporation (or MBIC), a venture capital company specializing in broadcast financing. Mr. Threadgill holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Bernard M. Baruch College, City University of New York, an MBA from Long Island University and an M.A. in International and Telecommunications Law from Antioch School of Law.
Steven E. Wheeler
Mr. Wheeler is the President of Wheeler & Co., LLC; a private investment firm. He is also a Director of Anika Therapeutics; a NASDAQ traded medical technology company. Between 1993 and February 1996, Mr. Wheeler was Managing Director of Copley Real Estate Advisors and President, CEO and a Director of Copley Properties, Inc., a publicly traded real estate investment trust. Before joining Copley, Mr. Wheeler was Chairman and CEO of Hancock Realty Investors. Prior to this position, he was Executive Vice President of Bank of New England. Mr. Wheeler received a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Virginia, an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Harvard University.
Jerry J. Jasinowski
Mr. Jasinowski, former President of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the nation’s largest industrial trade association. He also served as the President of The Manufacturing Institute, the education and research arm of the NAM during 2005 and 2006. With the increasing federal policy and procurement complexities facing business, Mr. Jasinowski’s extensive experience in Washington, including service as assistant secretary for policy at the U.S. Department of Commerce, brings a valuable perspective to the Board. In addition to his experience leading a complex business organization, Mr. Jasinowski brings expertise in economics and a deep understanding of the competitive and governance issues facing global manufacturing companies to his role as a director. Mr. Jasinowski has served on the Board of Directors of Harsco Corporation and WebMethods, Inc. He also serves as a director of The Phoenix Companies, Inc., and the Timken Company. Mr. Jasinowski is also a frequent guest commentator on network and financial news programs, author of two books about US-based manufacturing and business, and numerous articles appearing in key industry publications.
